Walmart CA E3 2018 Leak - Header

It’s that time of the year again, the season of major E3 leaks is upon us. Walmart Canada just posted a huge bunch of listings for titles which are currently unannounced. Some seem like no-brainers, others however, a little odd.

Did Walmart just drop a huge leak by accident?

Walmart CA E3 2018 Leak

The list includes a number of key unannounced titles:

  • Just Cause 4
  • Splinter Cell
  • Dragon Quest 2 (PS4/XBO)
  • LEGO DC Villans
  • Borderlands 3
  • Rage 2
  • Gears of War 5
  • Forza Horizons 5
  • Assassin’s Creed
  • Destiny Comet (DLC?)

There’s some mistakes in there, ‘Forza Horizons 5’ for example would indicate Microsoft is skipping Forza Horizon 4 and jumping straight to 5… probably not true. That said a Forza Horizon sequel seems like a given.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake appearing for Xbox One alongside a PS4 version is interesting too. Whilst the game was revealed as being able to “Play it first on PlayStation 4”, nobody has known how long the exclusivity will last – maybe we’re about to find out?

Borderlands 3 is all but announced at this point. Just Cause 4 is a real possibility considering developer Avalanche Studios haven’t released a major flagship title since Just Cause 3, two and a half years ago.

The game that adds some potential weight to the leak is ‘Rage 2’. For Walmart to invent a sequel to Rage is quite a stretch, granted still entirely possible.

What do you think? Is the leak real? It’s highly possible Walmart just spoiled a huge number of E3 announcements, and multiple industry insiders seem to be suggesting this very well may be the case.

We’ll find out soon enough as we get closer to E3, just over a month from now.

Update 17:00 BST – Walmart appeared to have pulled the listings from the site.

Update 09:20 BST – Bethesda and Pete Hines (VP of PR & marketing over at Bethesda) seem to have all but confirmed the list is real via an amusing series of tweets –
